AGITATORS AT WORK

LONDON, May 9. Agitators are endeavouring to incite the troops who enlisted under ther Derby recruiting scheme, to refuse (lnty after May 11th, on the ground that they are entitled to their discharge six months after the cessation of hostilities, under the terms of enlistment, though this interpretation is offically disputed. Leaflets have been widely distributed at the depots, and also at the naval stations. Police raids on a number of private houses resulted in the seizure of literature. The police also raided the office of the Sailors, Soldiers, aad Airmen's Union. A conspiracy for a mutiny in the British fleet, and for the soldiers to demobilise themselves, has been discoverd in England, according to the "Daily Mail." DANGEROUS PROPAGANDA. (Received May 11th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 9. It transpires that the Soldiers' Union, which is planning Sunday's meeting, is distributing propaganda, amongst the troops declaring: "You can start a British revolution which, once started, will, never bo stamped out. The Russjan revolution has placed the Russian workers in control of the Army and Navy. Why not have a revolution or our' own and get control of our own country?" ■ Th« leaders advocated the bombing of Buckingham Palace and deposing the Kin?* . . , ~ Many soldiers who joined the union with a view to accelerating demobilisation, resigned on learning of its real intentions.
