Herries to-day urging better accommodation for shearers. Members of the deputation declared that some of tho quarters provided were very bad, and in tho*interests of humanity .something should . bo done. Need for more adequate legislation to govern tho providing of accommodation for shearer# was stressed, and a request mado that tho Government should take over the Bill oivpe introduced by Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P. Mr Herries eaid thf\t from the point of view of the men tho Act did not go 'far enough.
