FATHER ATTACKED BY SON,

/ WESTPORT, March 3.

John Walshe, who shot his father, Michael Walshe, at Burnett's Face on Saturday, is twenty-two years of age. A domestic disturbance was at the bottom of tho trouble. The father was using bad language ,ia front of a large family and abusing his wile when young AVjdslie intervened and chastised his fa*er, who chased him into a room. The door being locked, Walshe tried to get at his son through a window, when the young fellow produced a revolver and fired two shots. One entered tho nose and lodged in tho mouth, and the other entered below the fifth rib. Walshe fell to the ground and the son went to a neighbour's house and awaited arrest by the constable, who duly took him into custody. Walshe, sen., was moved to the Dennis ton Hospital. The face wound is not serious, but tho chest wound is believed to be dangerous. Young Walshe was brought in custody to West-port on Saturday evening and lodged in the gaol. John Patrick Walshe was undefended when lie appeared in Court at 10.30 this morning, charged with doing grievous bodily harm. He was remanded till March 13th. no bail being asked for. Michael Walshe remains in the same condition. Late enquiries show that there is u danger of luemorrhage setting in in the chest wound.
