IRELAND.
AN AMERICAN RESOLUTION. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and X.**. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, January 6. At a mass meeting, of Irish people a resolution was passed asking President Wilson to support the principle of self-determination for Ireland at the Peace Conference. Some speakers declared that an Irish Republic had already been established. The Sinn Feiners do not want Ireland to remain within the British Empire. SEPARATION DESIRED. NEW YORK, January 6. Dr. Patrick McCartan. speaking at a meeting to congratulate Irish Sinn Feiners on capturing seats in the British Parliament, said that Ireland was now a republic, and was about to appeal to the Powers for recognition. If Great Britain" interfered with the establishment of the republic the resultant bloodshed would bo entirely at Eneland's door. The people of Ireland, at the recent election, clearly showed that they wanted only one thing—separation from "England.
