On Sunday, the Spartacus Group attempted to seize power. They occupied the office of the Wolff News Agency, closed all the newspaper offices, and other means of communication with the outsido world. No details are available. REVOLUTION IN FULL SWING. (Received January 7th, 7.5 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, January 6. Violent speeches were made at tho Spartacus demonstrations in Berlin on Sunday. I>r. Liebknecht, m an hysterical addrees, declared "We must be prepared for bloodshed." Tho streets were crowded' in the evening ,and nervousness was visible everywhere. At 10 o'clock on Monday morning fiehting began between the Government supporters and the Spartacus forces. The revolution is now in full swing. DICTATORSHIP EXPECTED. (Received January 7th, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 6. A most serious crisis has arisen in Berlin. The Government dismissed General Eichorn from tho presidency of police, and Eichorn called on the communists to effect a coup d'etat and overthrow the Government. A mob-stormed the "Vorwaerts" and other newspaper offices, piled the ma- j jority of the Socialistic pamphlets in j the streets, and made bonfires of them. It is expected that a Spartacus dictatorship will be established. BOLSHEVISM GROWING. OTW YORK, Januaiy 6. The Berlin correspondent of the United Press states that, although Bolshevism is generally an intellectual movement, unattended by violence, violence is growing slowly, due to soveral causes, namely, Russian agitators spendtag money and spreading propaganda freelv among the German workmen, and a growing fear of the extent to which capitalism intends to exploit Germany through the want of employment and food. The anxiety in Berlin is partly due to the strikes and bloodshed in the mining districts, which are the Bolshevists' principal strongholds.
