3.40 a.m. END OP THE STONEWALL. CR. FLESHER'S MOTION CARRIED. Cr. Peek having spoken. Or. Fleslier rose to reply. He said the re-iutrodijction of the ward system was a matter for the Council to deal with. It could do that by passing a motion u month before the election. The amendment tvas then put and lost by 7 votes tQ 10. The division list was as follows:—
Ayes (7) —Crs. Taylor, Hayward, Sullivan, Herbert, Wells, Howard, Burgoyne.
Noes (10)—Crs. Ell, Loasby, Peek, Nicholls, Beanland, Glimie, McKellar, Flesher, Williams, and the Mayor. Crs. Flesher's motion waß then put, and carried by 10 votes to 7, on a similar . division.
The Council rose at 3.86 a.m
