The Liverpool City Council rejected bv a large majority a proposal of the Libraries Committee to purchase a book on Celtic literature on the ground that it was associated with the name of Kuno Meyer, the former Garman Professor of Celtic at Li\ erptJol University. Alderman Burgess .said that Meyer took advantage of his position in Liverpool to stir up sedition in Ireland and America, and had acted in concert with Casement in Germany.
