Featherston Military Camp advise# that 82958 Private Edwin Hall Cornoy, Specialist Company, 47th Roinforco- , mcnts, died at the Auckland Hospital ; on Tuesday evening. The cause of [ death is suspected to have been cerebro- ! spinal meningitis. Deceased, was 20 i years of age. The nearest rolativo is his . father, Sir Walter Corney, 8 Pompallier ; street, Ponsonby, Auckland. Privato Guy Clarko Wilson (killed) ■■ wan the youngest son of Mr Kennoth , Wilson, or Palmerston North. Ho was j educated at the Palmerston North School, and afterwards joined the firm > of Goldinghnm and Bockett. Subse- ; quently he went fanning at Tauranga. : Decoased, who was 27 years of age, left j with tho 33rd Reinforcements, but on ; arrival in England was transferred to | tho Rifle Brigade. Ho leaves a widow ' and one child, who reside in Auckland. By the last mail advice was received • from Major J. L. Jeffrey, officer oom- j manding tho 11th Battery, N.Z. Field | Artillery, in France, as to how Gunner ' Gordon Seay was killed. Major Jeffrey .. states: "On the morning of May 9tli j Gunner Seay was on S.O.S. guard, and ; was returning to the gun position when j lie was hit by a splinter from high i explosive shell which burst near him — i death being instantaneous. He was t buried tho evening of tho same day with military honours in tho military cemetery on the Sorrcs-Colincamps road.
