NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION,

A special meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held last light. Present—Messrs J. R. Buchanan | chairman), B. O'Neill (Wellington), C. C. Bryant (Wanganui). F. 0. Fantham (West'anid), and P. N. Rundle (Otago). M. O'Neill moved: "That the sixth clause if Rule 7 be deleted and the following substituted:—'ln all cases where a record performance is established the secretary of the controlling Centre shall commuicato the fact o the eeoretaiy of the Association with the greatest possible despatch, and shall, as soon is possible thereafter, forward to the latter the application for the recognition of such .ecord performance. If it ©hall appear to the Council that there has been undue delay in applying for the recognition of a record *he Council shall have the right to refuse -.ho recognition. In no case will an application be considered by the Council after the 'zpiratkm of three months from the date of 'he performance in respect of which such ipplication is made.' Mr O'Neill further moved the adoption of "Conference of Centres" rules, also Dominion championship rules, with certain al-'-oratioire. The rules, as amended, were adopted. Mr Bundle's motion that a 150 yards backstroke event be added to the list of New Zealand championships, with a standard time of 2min 6sec, was carried.

An- ordinary meeting of the Council was then held.
