» Mr Robert James Ramsay, a member sf the firm of Taylor, Ramsav, and Co., Wellington, died at his residence in Adelaide road on Tuesday night. The deceased, who was 47 years of age, was born at Greytown, and went to live in Wellington in 1883; On comploting his education at the Thorndon School, he entered the service of the lato Mr J. E. ' Hayes, plumber and engineer, Lambton quay, and remained with him for twelve years. He afterwards spent two years in Great Britain, gaining business experience, and on returning to Wellington ho became a partner in the firm of Tavlor, Ramsay and Co., Courtenay | place. His death occurred after a long illness. He has left a widow (a daughter of the late Mr William Wallis, of , Nairn street), two sons and a t daughter. I Mr Georjjc S. McKay, a highly , esteemed resident of West port, died on ! Monday. Ho -was a native of Sunder- 1 land, Durham, England, -nd was 69 years of age. For many j.irs ho car- • ried on the business of a sawmiller. He ; is survived l>v a widow (a sister of the : late Right Hon. R. J. Seddon) and a 1 grown-up family, \vhich includes Mrs Rumbold. of Reefton; Miss M. McKay, ■ on tho Westport District High School : teaching staff; Miss D. McKay, on the . clerical staff of the Rank of New Zea- I land; Mrs Robert Wogan, of Wellington ; Miss Annie McKay, of the Tourist . Department; Miss Jessie McKay, Westport Post Office; and Mr Jack McKay, who served in the Boer war, and, later, in the German East Africa campaign. The death occurred at Riwaka on Tuesday of an old and respected resident of the district in the person of
Mr James Henry Clark, aged 68 years. He was born at Wakefield, Nelson, being tho son of Mr David Clark, surveyor, well-known throughout the province in the early days. The deceased left Wakefield for Canterbury, where he engaged in sawmilling for a lengthy period, and went to reside in Riwaka about nine years ago
