RANGIORA FIRE BRIGADE.

o ANNUAL MEETING. The forty-fourth annual meeting of tno Hangiora Volunteer Fire Brigade was he;d at the Brigade Station last evening. Edlin, v."lio had ' joined the Dunedin Brigade. Ten members liad qnalified for the various long ser ice honours of the United Fire- Brigades Asso'iv tion. There were only tlircc fire alarms dvring the yoar. and none was of a serious character. The generous treatment by the Borough Council in providing all the firemen ■with service boots, and in increasing the Brigade's accident insurance policy, ' was acknowledged. Thanks were a!so accorded to thoso who had assisted the Brigade financially and in other ways. Sympathetic rcferc/ioe was made to the death of the lata Mr "\V. E fiord, a life honorary vrho was for 20 years connected with the Brigade. I The balance-sheet showed the receipts to have been £37 9s, and expenditure £41 4s 9J. leaving a credit balance of £1G 4s 3d, as compared with £3 17s ed at the beginning of the year. Buddo presented ncrvico badges as follows:-Two years' additional service bars to Foreman XI. D. Bettsrer and Engineer A. Prcstnoy (completing 17 years each), Firemen J. H. C'oates and P. J.
