PROTESTANT POLITICAL ASSOCIATION.

OAMARU, May 21. The Opera House was packed to the doors to-night to hear an address bv the Rev. Howard Elliott, organiser of the Protestant Political Association. Tho speaker received an enthusiastic hearing, and was frequently cheered by an orderly meeting.- The,following resolution was carried unanimously:— "That this meeting of the Protestants of Oamaru expresses its strong adherence to a national system of education, and its disapproval of grants in any form to denominational schools. It calls tipon the Government to withdraw all concessions and scholarships already made, and so preserve the integrity of the national system."
