The collier Kahika is expected to arrive at Lyttelton to-day with a full load of coal from Westport. After discharge she will return to. the West Coast for another load of coal for Lyttelton. _ Tho Monowai, which arrived here yesterday from Northern ports, will sail to-day for Dur.edin. She will omit her usual call at Lyttelton on her return voyage North. "There are bosses on tho waterfront to-day who give the men no satisfaction," said a witness when speaking of complaints before tho Waterside Accidents Commission in Auckland. "Theso men were not 'at the top of the tree,'" ho explained; "they did not Tun tho ship or engage labour. They were what the men called 'Pannikin bosses,' and were foremen who were under tho higher foremen. 'Pannikins' is the nickname of the watersiders for 'understrappers.' FOR AUSTRALIA.
