OBITUARY. John Thomas Dennis, who died recently at Linwood, was an old and highly esteemed resident of Lyttelton. He' ■was bom in Cornwall, England, in 18S4 and arrived with his parents a-t Lyttelton in the ahip Columbna in. 1873. He wae employed Hi<iH r^ 0n , th * , L y«®lton District High School, and aleo the Lyttelton Gaol, and was subsequently engaged in various occupations in . the port until about 14 montns ago, when, through failing health, tLTT, *7 re . ho^uis t his employment, ino la to Mr Dennis wa6 married in 1578 After living xn Lyttelton over forty rears t (he was a member of the local Oddfellowe' Lodge for 45 years) he removed to Hea-th-arr i IC pbU ; C bo raided until his death. He leaves three daughters and two sons to mourn their loss.
