CITY COUNCIL BYELECTION.
MR C ALLISON A CANDIDATE
Mr Charles Allison, a former Mayor of Christchurch, has lieen nominated as' a candidate for the seat on the Christchurch City Council, declared vacant consequent on the conViction of Cr. H. Hunter on a. charge of making a seditious utterance.
Until tho decision of next Tuesday's Cabinet meeting is known, as to whether the sentences imposed on Hunter, Langloy,. and Flood are to bfc remitted, it will not be definitely known what action will be taken by the citizens' and the Labour "parties ip. the matter of bringing out candidates. It is assumed that, in the event of the sentences being remitted, Mr x Hunter, who will then be eligible, will be a candidate
