THE AIR FORCE.
(fboh ouk own correspondent.) DQNDON, March 7.
Before Jong the distinction between the K.F.C. and the K.N.A.S. will have been extinguished' by the coming into operation of the act of merger. The new Air Force will be a distinct branch of our defences, ranking equally with the JNavy and tue Army, and naving its own secretary, of aiate. The air service, eitner naval or 'military, is an. -activity wiucii iius captured our imaginations as no otuer oraupn of military deience could. One never sees the service cap of the It.iJ'.U., or tue wings of, tne Jx.jN.A.S., witnout giving tue wearer a vested credit tor lus snare in a liundred 'feats of gallantry in the skies, and tno mere sacrifice of the uniiorm, or any part of it, will inevitably be a considerable concession, tstill the present war is to bo finished out m kiiaki, for it is announced that difficulties of manufacture will prevent the new cloth being produced during the war. The new cloth is to be light blue, probably something very like the J! rench service blue, and officers may at option adopt it for evening w?n r i> I service uniform will be of army khaki, and probably of Air Force entitled it to the respect and admiration not only of the two great A r ° m^ ich ifc but of the Empire as a whole for every part of the Empire was repreffS » the Fl r g °° rps - ""S lia had its own Dying squadron, whicL had rendered invaluable service at the fro.nt, and some of the most efficionl erS ° f n l me S, il ? 811 benches of botl wings of the Flying Corps had theii Africa > Zealand, and India.
