Tho Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affaire, left for Wellington last night.
The Hon. Sir William Fraser, Minister of Public Works, left by tho express yesterday for Rangitata and Geraldine.
Tho Rev. E. C. W. Powell, T.D., Chaplain-Major to the New Zealand Forces, who recently returned from France, has reported again for duty, and has been appointed to the 38th Reinforcements.
Mr A. H. King, of this city, has received word that his son, Lieut. Georgo W. King, who left with the Main Body of Tunnollers, has been transferred to the Royal Engineers, and is now captain of No. 4, Foreway Company, Royal Engineers, a body recently form<!*l mainly for tho purpose of laying and maintaining tramways at the front.
At a meeting of citizens held in tho Oainaru Town Hall yesterday afternoon, the following resolution, moved by the Mayor and supported by Mr Lee, M.P., was carried unanimously: "That this meeting of On tarn citizens desires to express its warm appreciation of the strenuous and well-directed efforts of the Right Hon. David Lloyd George to secure victory for our arms, and it strongly deprecates . the paralysing critic-ism to which ne has been subjected."
