CORRESPONDENCE.
NEW ZEALAND SOLDIERS AND ENGLISH GIRLS. to var ei»iio» or "ths press '• Sir,—l was much amused at N.Z.'s letter in this morning's paper. But why shouldn't British wives have tho right to vote for our members of Parliament, if their husbands arc domiciled in the country? Aren't wo out to fight.for the freedom of the world? 1 can quite understand now, whv a Walton-on-Thames girl, married to a New Zealand soldier, and sent out by him to his people, till his return, was so unmercifully snubbed that she wont back heart-broken. "What the lads thought and- said when they heard of it J- not say. The New Zealanders m England, when they met good girl chums, had a right to pick a bride if they chosc.
Might I suggest, sir. that the Government send two or three ship-loads of New Zealand women to America, now the American men are leaving for trance, and there they might meet some multi-millionaire, who could jive them all the fashions and "society' they so crave for.—Yours, etc., PLAIN RETURNED SOLDIER. Mdy Hi],, i9iß.
