Lord Reading, British Ambassador to tho United States, has not received any confirmation of the report that the Allies "will cease brigading Americans with the British and French, and wait until the Americans aro able to form their own armies. He has stated that ho doubts the accuracy of the announcement, which is attributed to the British Cabinet.

Military officials in the United States rejoice at the Allies' decision not to use American troops in large numbers until the Americans aro ready to strike ns a powerful- self-supporting army.

Mr Newton D. Baker (War Secretary) states that he said that the American forces in Franco would be actively engaged in tho battle now, and regularly in the future.

The War Department has asked Congress for 6,000,000,000 dollars for heavy ordnance. This appropriation is not included in the 15,000,000,000 dollars in the estimates of last week.
