LONDON, May 14. The Admiralty reports: — "Between May 6th and May 11th air-
craft from Dunkirk successfully bombed the docks and seaplane baso at Ostend; also tho Zeebrugge mole, lock gates, and shipping.
"Several direct hits were secured on sheds on the Zeebrugge mole. A largo shed at Ostend was completely burned. Wo destroyed six machines and drove two others down auring patrols. One British machine is missing.
"A seaplane on Friday over the North Sea engaged a Zeppelin, which retreated after half an hour."
Sir Douglas Haig's aviation report states:—
"Flying was impossible on Sunday until tho evening, when visibility was excellent. We dropped eight tons of bombs in tho neighbourhood of Menin, Armentieres, and La Bassee; also on tho Bruges docks. We brought down six enemy machines. One British machine is missing.
"Our night fliers dropped 14 tons of bombs at night time on tho Marooing and Chaulnes railway stations, the Bruges docks, and Bapaume and Peronne. One British machine did not return." /'Received May 14th, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 13. In the House of Commons Mr Bonar Law announced that Major-General Trenchard accepted command of a very important part of the British air force.
