TIMARTT, May 13. lhc limaru Borough Council to-night Passed tho following resolution on tho motion of the Mayor (Mr James Maling):—"That thi s Council, having reaid to all the circumstances of tho ease, urges the Government to grant remission of the sentences passed on Messrs Langley, Flood, and Hunter, and H'ould represent to. the Government that tho Council considers . that the law, having demonstrated it s power, will now be best served by tempering justice with mercy."
