The annual Chrysanthemum Show and floral display, in aid of the lands of tUc iletUodist \_nutcb, which was opened ok Thursday afternoon, fas Oeen the most successful yet held, 'l'he etiovv was well patronised on both dovs, and in all over jt'l2s was realised." Some excellent, musical items during tho evoniug were contributed by ,\tisECß Priatt, K. Jory, Austud, and Johnston, Mrs Jory, tho Kcv, J. K. i'arsoiis, and Mr Austad. in presenting the prizes to tlic winners in the various sections, tno Rev. Parc-ons said that he was uior® than pleased with the results of the show, which had certainly surpassed all previous oflorte. Local growers had enthusiastically supported the enterprise, and the exhibitors in all sections deserved hearty congratulations for tho fino displays that had bsen provided. It was particularly gratifying that this year there liad been a much larger number of entries in the vegetable section. A weight-guessing competition tor a sheep was won by Mr l>. Stewart-, and a large presentation cake was won by Mr J. Page, another cake being divided between Mr W. T. Foster and Milt. Stewart, who tied in the competition. At the termination of, the show the flowers, vegetables, ctc., were sold.
