RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION.
MEETING- OF COMMITTEE. Tho fortnightly meeting of the committee of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association was held at the Association roma on Tuesday evening, Mr H. M. Cotton presiding. Five members were transferred. A letter was received from a resident of Akaroa in reference to enemy aliens and military matters. Tho Board of Governors of the Canterbury College having offered to remit the fees of returned men taking lectures, it was decided that the Association endeavour to got as many returned men interested as possible. Tho secretary reported that the Association had fonnd seven more positions fox returned men, making a total of seventeen for the month of April. A letter irom Sir James Allen in reference to evaders of the Military Service Act was received. Mr E. "White was elected an honorary member of tho Association, and 40 members were also elected. An invitation received from the Y.M.C.A. to a complimentary concert to be held in tho Choral Hall on May 18th was accepted.
