Suggestions by the chairman for a settlement wore "considered, with two adjournments, after which the chairman {the Hon. George Fowjds) announced that his proposals had not been acceptable, and the committee now proposed to roport to the Minister of Lalwiir, with alternative proposals as provided by the Act. The Minister, on receipt of these proposals, will cause them to be advertised. and afterwards the Registrar of Industrial Unions will take a secret ballot of the members of the union on the question whether or not a strike shall take place.
