AUCKLAND SOFT GOODS TRADE DISPUTE.
(press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, May 7. The Arbitration Court declined to made an award in the soft goods trade dispute on the grounds: That the appellant union cannot he said to be representative. That the great majority of the workers have declared themselves satisfied with the present state of affairs, and do not want an award. That the union has failed to show that the wages and conditions are unsatisfactory. . That the dispute, though technically in order, is not a real or substantial one. . That the wages at present paid in Auckland are in excess of those granted by the Court to similar workers elsewhere.
