Tho Hon.. D. Btiddo, M.P., left for Wellington last evening.
Mr W. J. Hunter Was a passenger for Wellington yesterday in connexion with Court of Appeal work. The Hon. J. A. Hanan, Minister of Education, left for the south by yesterday's express. Mr H. H. Jackson, chief mcchanical engineer, New Zealand Railways, and the Misses Jackson, ore staying in Christchurch for a fow days. Sir William Frasor, Minister of Public Works, arrives in Christchurch thia morning, and will proceed direct to the Arthur's Pass, tunnel to go into questions thore. Mr J. A. Frostick, Canterbury Commissioner on the National Efficiency Board, loft last night for Wellington to attend a meeting of the Board, which opens there to-day. Major Colvin, who has been in charge of the southern division of tho Salvation Army, with headquarters in Dunodin, for the past three years, has received notice of his transfer to Wellington to-take charge of tho soldiers' hostel wlrich is in course of erection there. Commissioner and Mrs Hodder, Colonel Mclnnos, Brigadiers Gist and Hoare, and Majors Hamilton and College, arrived from Dunedin last night to take part in tliiß week's Salvation Army Congr&s in Christchurch. Tho visitors woro welcomed at a public gathering in the Cranford street Hall daring the evening.
