PALESTINE CAMPAIGN.

A Palestine official report states: — •'Fighting continued throughout May 2nd east of tho Jordan and south, of Es Salt. f 'Tlie enemy, who crossed the rivor at Jisr cd Damie, were driven back. "Our air service attacked and bombed troops and rolliug-stock on the Hedjaz railway in the vicinity or Amman and Wadi Sir, south of Es Salt. Two of our machines have not returned. "During the night of May -lid an 1 the morning of May 3rd the enemy renewed his attacks on Es Salt from the north-east and north with considerable reinforcements. Both his attacks were repulsed with heavy losses, and we took 314 prisoners." LONDON, May 3. Doctor Wcizmatm, speaking at tho Zionist Commission's reception at Jerusalem, said that Jerusalem had lost twothirds of its Jewish inhabitants through exile, typhus, and starvation.
