LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS.
(special to n inE tress.'•')
GREYMOUTH, May 4. Tho forecast of the appointments to tho Legislative Council has caused a great deal of dissatisfaction here, and the Mayor has been asked to call an indignation meeting. It is admitted that both M r Grimmond and Mr Michel have done valuable work as public men. but it is considered that it is an injustice to Grey to give Ross, a town with a few hundred of a population and Hokitika. a town with a few thousand, a representative each, while the Grey electorate is wholly unrepresented.
