I The "Echo de Paris's" Geneva correspondent states that the German Go- j vernment, fearing a revolution, has provided the police with machine-guns. Herr Schneidmann, leader of the Social Democratic Party, is traversing Germany urging a vigorous continuation of the war. Germany has requisitioned all aluminium for military purposes. THE BREAD ALLOWANCE. AMSTERDAM. March 25. The "Vorwaerts," dealing with the food situation, says it is impossible to exist on the bread allowance, which is now reduced to two hundred' grammes in Germany. TURKEY'S PLIGHT. ENVER PASHA VISITS GERMANY. (Router's Telegrams.) LONDON, Maroh. 25. An official message from Berlin states that Enver Pasha arrived at the German Headquarters, and conferred with the Kaiser and Marshal von Hindenburg. SOCIALIST PROGRAMME. PROPOSED BASIS OF PEACE. The German Socialist Party has published a programme including the speedy conclusion of peace on a basis of the abandoning of all annexations by all belligerents. Wilhelms haven Harbour has been closed! for. a fortnight. The reason is unknown. GERMAN SUBMARINE SCHOOL. TURKISH SAILORS AS PUPILS. (Received. March 26th, 10.45 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, March 26. A submarine school has been opened at Constantinople, managed by German naval officers, who teach Turkish officers and sailors to command and man submarines. Many Btudents are attending the opening course.
