A eliarge of disloyalty to the caivpe of labour, based upon statements alleged to have been made by h ; m at a meeting of tho Gardeners' [Union, was recently preferred against Mr R. Breen (secretary of the Ota<jo Labour Council). by Mr J. D. Smrth (telegraphs our Dunedin correspondent). An enquiry was held bcfcro a committee. It is stated that Mr Smith stood to his charge (the specific allegation in which was that Mr Brcen had spoken in derogatory terms of the officials of the Federation of Labour), but called no evidence, giving his reason for such abstention.
