y. . ANNUAL SPORTS. Tho annual sports gathering of tho scholars attending the School for tho Deaf at Sumner took place yesterday afternoon at the school grounds, in tho presence ci a, large gathering of parents and friend?. All the events were keenly contested, and caused great interest. Tho prizes were gciicroualy provided by theiouso and teaching staffs. Several of the events caused much amusement especially the mug and water raco and the bun and treacle competition. The school breaks up for the Christmas vacation on Thursday next.
