THE POPE'S POSITION. CENTRAL POWERS ANNOYED. ! (By Cable.—Pre«« Association.—CopyrigM.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received November 12th, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, November 11. The "Corriere Delia Sera", states that the Pope's relations with the Central Powers have become strained owing to the Pope refusing tlio Emperor Franz Josef's demand for the deposition of Monsignor Endrini, the ' Irridentist Bishop of Trent, and owing to the Pope showering , favours upon Prance to the exclusion of Austrian and German candidates for the Consistory. This has made a profound impression -upon Roman Catholics, who interpret- it as indicating a change in the Pope's policy. OPPRESSING SERBIA. ALL MALES SECURED.
