The Joint Commission for the revision of the Protestant Episcopal Prayer Book has recommended sweeping changes in ' the marriage service, which aro to be considered at a triennial convention in October.
Tho' changes include the omission of, the bride's promise to "obey," and also of the bridegroom's promise to endow "the bri3e with his worldly goods. UNITED STATES' NAVY. WASHINGTON, September 17. Tho United Stateß has completed the Dreadnought Arizona, which will bo commissioned in October. The Atlantic , Fleet will then include six Dreadnoughts, armed with a batterv of 14-inch guns, and fivo with 12-inch guns. WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE GRANTED. VANCOUVER. September 15. British Columbia has granted women's suffrage and prohibition by a majority of 8000 votes, exclusive of the soldiers' votes now being taken in Britain and France.
