srnEYDo::. At the monthly meeting of the Spreydon Branch of the La-dy .Liverpool Fund, the Mayoress (Jlr3 Win tor) presided. and 10 rnenii' b?rs of the committee were present. Mre Vmsor reported on the woric done during Augu<t as foJows: —93 towels. 518 handkerchiefs, 11 Balaclavas, 13 mutters, t»7 pairs socks, 9 puirs mittens, 51 diet cloths, 137 medicine cloths, G7 face cloths, 2 dressing gowns, 50 i.>ook3, Bi)S bandages (mcn'c --'o. ■> c|a6s). 29<j bandages from girls' class, 50 hunsiffa, 50 holdalls, 1" day shirts. -2 suits pyjama3, 30 flannel shirts, 13 muslin shirts, 8 waistcoats, 10 pairs slippers, 1 pair knee caps, 1 bundle old linen, 160 tins sweets. Two very successful socials have been held at the Somerfield street Hall, and thank* were due to all those who assisted. Many tetters were received front soldiers of the 16th Reinforcements, who received leather waistcoats, and the gilts were greatly appro, ciated. Xhe annual meeting- of the Lady Liverpool Patriotic Fund was attended on, I behalt of Spreydon by Mrs Winsor and Miss i WoodSeld. Mention waa made of tho exceli lent help received from Spreydon. • Doua- | tio'ns for Christmas gifts for the front will j | bo thankfully received, and any donor of j 5* is entitled to have their name and ad- ' dresa enclosed with parcel.
