SHIPPING NOTES.

In continuation of her voyage from London, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line's steamer Port Elliot is to leave Sydney to-day for Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. When she completes discharge in the North Island, sho will commence Homeward loading, _ Lyttelton being ono of tho ports to be visited for this purpose. With a cargo of some 4000 tons of phosphates, the Japanese steamer Eoan Mam is expected at Auckland from Ocean Island to-morrow.

An arrival at Wellington yesterday morning waa the British Imperial Oil Company's steamer Cyrena, from Singapore, via Sydney, with case oil. The vessel will subsequently visit Lyttelton. Tho schooner Lily has completed loading for Greymouth. She is now in the stream awaiting a full complement of eeamen. It is expected that .the steamer Opouri will return to Lyttelton from Greymouth with a cargo of timber about Wednesday next. From Liverpool, via Australian ports, tho Federal and Shire Lino's steamer Durham is expected to reach Auckland in time to commence discharge on Monday. After calling at Wellington she will come on to Lyttelton, where she is due about August 2nd. As usual, discharge will b© completed at Dunedin, after which Homeward loading will b* undei taken. Captain Page, of the Kittawa, came ashore a.t Lyttelton yesterday, and went on to Wellington last night for orders. Ho has been succeeded on tho Eittawa by Captain Nicholas, late of the Pohorua. It is probable that Captain Page will join the Te Arrau in place of- Captain R. Smith. On her-way to Duncdin from Picton tho Corinna made a call at Lyttelton yesterday morning, resuming her voyage in the afternoon. She is due back to load for Wellington on Wednesday next. To discharge a quantity of cargo from Auckland tho Te Anau is duo at Lyttelton tomorrow. She goes south on Monday. A heavy_ eca has been running along tho coast during the past few days. The Kittawa passed tho Japanese steamer Yechigo Maru, en route from Lyttelton to Port Pirie, in Cook Strait on Thursday, tho latter vessel, in .consequence of her light trim, being given a good tossing about. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Orari was also delayed. Leaving Lyttelton on Thursday at G. 5 p.m., she did not reach Wellington until 2 p.m. yesterday, the run between the two porta occupying practically twenty hours. Several other vessels were also delayed.
