YESTERDAY'S MEETING. v The Christ-church. Tramway Board met yes- j terday afternoon. Present —Messrs J. A. Fleshcr (chairman). G. T. Booth, H. Pearoe, A. S. Taylor, C. M. Gray. D. Sykes, S. A. Staples, T. H. Davey, and tho Hon. J. Barr. The Lin wood Citizens* Association wrote asking that it be shown the pla.na of tho proposed shelter a»t tlxo Bank of Zca- . land corner beforo tho work was proceeded j with. It was decided to inform the Association that tho plans could be inspected at | the City Council Chambers. j The Works and Traffic Committee report- i ed that the Local Bodies Loans Amendment i Act, I'JOS, required that the Public Trustee i ehould be appointed Sinking Fund Cotnmis- ! eioner of the £61,400 loan. Subsequent | legislation gave the Board power to revoke the appointment of Sinking Fund Commissioners The funds in tho hands of tho I Public Trustee amounted to £IGG9. whereas j those iu the hands of the Commissioners for other loans amounted to £27,441. It would . be advantageous if the funds were com- i bined. The committee therefore recom- . men-dod the Board to revoke the I of the Public Trustee, and to appoint tho Commissioners of the other fund —Messrs H. { J. Besv.-ick and Geo. Gould—as Commis- ' eionore in respect of the £61,400 loan. The Board acted upon the committee's re- 1 commendation. The Works and Traffic Committee also reported that the rails reouired for tho re-lay-ing c 4 the Opawa line had arrived, but the committee recommended that the work be deferred until the weather was more settled The service would be broken during the progress of tho work, passengers being required to walk over the hroken section from one car to another. This inconvenience would be minimised if the work was postponed until the weather improved. The recommendation was adopted.
