HELP FOR SHACKLETOX. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received June sth, 11.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE. June 5. Senator Pearce lias announced that the Commonwealth and New Zealand Governments have offered to pay half the cost of an expedition to relieve Shackiet-on's party on a population basis. This means that Australia will pav four-fifths of the contribution.
