A number of influential doctors, having proved beyond doubt that indiscriminate drinking is responsible for military inefficiency, appeal for six o'clock closing. SEQUEL TO PETROL SCANDAL. (Received June Ist* 10.40 p.m.) SYDNEY. June 1. As an outcome of the finding of the Petrol Commission, H. A. Morgan wak committed for trial on three chargcs of wickedly soliciting and inciting F. S. Black, local manager of the British Imporial Oil Company, a ud E. E. Wagstaff, general manager of the company, to client and defraud the King of clivers large sums of money. The evidence was similar to that given before tht Commission. Mr Griffith, Minister o! Education, said he never authorised Morgan to make proposals for brokerage or commission, but merely authorised him to collect facts to 7>iace before the proper authorities. Bail of £200 ■was allowed.
