ANZAC DAY.
LOCAL CELEBRATIONS
The question of the various Queen Committees uniting for a joint celebration of Anzac Day is being talked of in town, but so far nothing has been done.
The Mayor's suggestion that everyone should "stop work for a minute" is not regarded relevant or adequate. A t;, Rangioha a commemoration cfelebration will be held in the Drill Hall, under the auspices of the Mayor of Rangicwa. chairman of tho County, lied Cross, and Soldiers' Committees. The Christehurcli Savage Club, assisted by the Christchurch Liedertafel Quartet, and'the Rangiora Band, etc., will control and supply the commemoration '>erl : oi-ir>anees.
At Kaiapoi the Mayor and local 1 or- j ganisations have arranged a religious and secular celebration in the evening, at- which the Rev. P. AY. Fairclough will be the chief speaker, and the 13th j Regiment Band will assist. ! i
