— w NO PRESSURE ON SINGLE MEN. A complaint was recently communicated to the Auckland "Herald" that tho Department of Agriculture had issued orders to the manager of the lluakura State Farm to dispense with the services of single men of military age who are fit for active serviceIn reply to enquiries, the Prime Minister stated that as a general policy nothing of the kind had been done. He had 110 knowledge of this case. Mr Massey said the Government was not taking on single men eligible for military service, but it was certainly not making a policy of discharging them. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. T>. S. MacDonaJd. stated that he had not given any such instructions, and that he know nothing of the reported incident. !
