If notj it is our own fault! , "Whatever wrongs; are imposed upon the majority of our •own -people, they * are not' imposed by an alien from outside, and tho. moment the. democracy of the country is convinced. of tho necessity of reform, they can get that reform so long as we maintain dur "position'among the nations of the wdrld. ■By passing.tho amendment w.e should not, be.serving.the armies in the field, and would Hot even be representing the people who have sent us to tho conference, and who are determined first to defeat, tbo'cncmy. without and then deal withtheepemy at home."
