DOMINION TOURNAMENT. RINK CHAIIFIONSHIP. TORRANCE AND LAUGHTON IN THE FINAL. Tho surpTiso of the day u play was the defeat of Roslyn (Fountain) by Newtown (Laughton) in the semi-final. In the first round Christchurch (Torrance) was fairly well matched against Newtown (Wylie), the visitors pnttine up a stubborn fight, but the home team emerged the winners by 19 points to 17. The home team, however, proved the more consistent, and won by 21 points to 16. Newtown (J. Laughton) had an easy win from Canterbury (J. A. Redpath), 20 8. Thero was a close in tho Waimate (Laing) and United (Woolf) game, the southern skip pulling off a win by a well-judged and played final shot. Waimate 15, United 1.1. Roslyn (Fountain) found little difficulty in defeating Canterbury (Borland) by 30 point's to 20. 'Walker (Ponsonby) made a. runaway match of it tip to the 7th head, when 15 stood to their credit, whilst Otago's score stood at.nil. On the Bth, Otago put 3 on the hoard, and followed on with a four: on th© 10th, Ponsonby stood at ,17, and th® next head brought Otago's total to 9.
