QUEEN ELECTION.
LAND AGENTS' SECTION. A meeting of tho Land Agents' Section of the Queen Election .Committee was held at the Caledonian Hall on Tuesday. .Mr P. L. Davies occupied tho chair. Mr T. Vf. "West (Messrs Ford and Hadiield), Mr J. H. Saunders (I>ominion Homo Builders), and ths hon. treasurer (Mr H. W. Hcslop) were elected to the Ways and Means Committee. The treasurer reported that Mr O. T. J Alpers had kindly consonted to act as auctioneer at the concert aud sal© to be arranged at Sumner on. Saturday, January 22nd. Several entirely novel means of raisins* money were suggested and _ discussed, the "Ways and Means Committee being instructed to arrange details and. report to the general meeting on Tuesday nest. whqlesaleHand bet ail . SECTION. A very enthusiastic meeting of the Christchurch South Sub-section of the Wholesale and Retail Section was held iu the Sydenham Football Club Rooms on Tuosday night. Very encouraging .reports were received from the "VValtham. Addington, Beckenham. and Cashmere sub-committees. Twentyfive official collectors \wero appointed, each one being in charge of a sub-sec-tion, to thoroughly work the district. It was decided to order a large number of badges, and' to inform the central executive of .the meeting's intense gratification of the selection of a Queen, and to work energetically for her return.
