Cloud (0-10) .. .. 9 9 The meteorological obssrvations taken by Mr Jamas Carr, "Rudstone," Mcthven, for the month of December, 1915, are as follows: —Highest leading of tile ba-ioiueter, 30.6 do* grees, on the 18th and. 29tb; lowest, 29.41 degrees, on the the Bth. lisiu lei lon 16 days, totalling ?.G1 inches. The rainfall for 1915 waa 25.25 inches,' as against 36.96 inches for 1914. . The rainfall for 1915 ae recorded at "Glenarifie," Double Hill (Rakaia Gorge), totalled 39.58 inches, and ait "Wbakaki," Porateko, Mayfield, 21.64 inches, -while at Hackthorne only 13.63 inches waa recorded for 1910. The readings taken at the Ashburton Domain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer, 29.61; thermometer, max. 63, min. 53.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. . Expect high Tiorthwe&t to Bomth-west winds, with barometer unsteady, bnt rising everywhere shortly.
