AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Automobile Association was held last evening, Mr A. S. Clarkson (president) being in the chair. The following new members were elected:— Messrs A. R. Blank, Jas. Cook. B. Moore, F. W. Woodward, G. Sutherland. H. F. Luers, "W. J. Skurr, H. T. Cooper. A. T. Stubbs, A. Henderson, E. Feary, T. S. J. Doherty, H. Dix, and H. Lightband. Letters from officials of the River Bonk Carnival Committee, the Canterbury Pioneer Committee, and Mr T. S. Doherty were received, thanking the Association for the assistance it had rendered on various occasions. It was decided to grant £10 13s towards the forthcoming Grand Patriotic Mo'tor Carnival. In reply to an application from the Heathcote Valley School Committee for assistance in running motor-car trips from Heathcote to Sumner in connexion with a fete in aid of the Patriotic Fund, it was decided to point out that though the Association, as an association, could not help in the way asked, the individual members would try to assist the object that the committee had in view.
