BAND OF HOPE UNION.
[ ANNUAL CONTESTS. Interest continues in the Band of H<#>e contests, and there wan another good house last evening at the Choral Hall. Th© programme opened with an overture by tho Kcchabito Band, followed by n dialogue by the Avonside Band of Hope. The oorqpetitors in tho Club eolo competition rave a very fine exhibition of their skill. The ecriptaro leading bjr eight drew ton entries,"and all came forwarcl to face tho judge. Tbe Her. W. J. Williams occupied tbe chair. Tho prize-winners will bo announced this evening. The programme for to-night will bo one of the most attractive of the series, consisting of dialogues, pianoforte duets, recitations, eacred solos, vocal quartettes, and humorou« recitations.
The executive of the Union h*ve decided to give two entertainments by prize-winners, the first at St. Saviour's Schoolroom. Sydenham. in aid of the Rod Crows Fund, and tho second in tho Choral Hall on October 3th for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund,
