1 NORTH SHOHE GAS STRIKE. (By Cable.—Pros* Association.—Copyright^ ~ SYDNEY, September 27. ? In connexion - with the North Shore gas strike, the arbitrator decided that the punishment inflicted on the dismissed man was unjust. BROKEN HILL MINERS. A mass meeting of the Amalgamated Miners' Association at Broken Hill rejected a proposal to hold a referendum on tho riuestion of a forty-four houre' week. Tho meeting noted that tho underground men finish on Saturdays at four o'clock. (It was recently stated that the underground men were to work only 40 hours a week till a 44 hours' week was granted to all hands.)
