(rBESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, September 27. Alexander McKenzie. a wharf labi ourcr, fell from the staging of the collier Waitomo into tho water, striking tho side of the hulk heavily. Ho sustained injuries which resulted in his death whilo being convcycd to the hospital. WANGANUI, September 27. The body of Corporal Comyns, a young man rocently invalided from tho Dardanelles, was found on the railway line near Okoia early this morning. It is supposed that he fell from the train on Saturday without beins noticed. He was probably killed instantaneous- ! ly. Deceased left with tho Main Body j and was invalided home on account of j deafness. Ho was well known and very j popular, and his terrible end has cauoj ed a great shock. ] A married man, named Angus McTnj tosh McLood, was drowned on the I Patea bar yesterday, owing to his hoat j swamping. Four other occupants got i ashore safelv. Deceased was 36 years lof age, and leaves a wife and seven children. HOKTITIKA, September 27. Andrew August, a r.ativq of Sweden, and 60 years of age. committed suicide in the Wcstland Hospital on Saturday afternoon, while in bed, by cutting his throat with a razor. DUNEDIN, September 27. An inquest on tho remains found at Purakanui on Saturday was held at Port Chalmers this afternoon. The body could not be identified, but the evidence given Jed to the belief that th© remains were those of Alfred Arthur Austin, an assistant chemist, who disappeared on May 16tli. 1914. Austin was a married man, living in South Dunedin, and the last seen of him was at Port Chalmers one Saturday evening. He had a "crib" at Waitata. The Coroner returned a verdict that the remains were those, of Alfred Austin, and that ho died sqjie time in 1914.
