SEVERE AUSTRIAN LOSSES.
LONDON, September 24. Mr Martin Donohoe, describing an attack against an Italian entrenched position at Monte-San-Michele, Bays that mass after ma&s of Austrian infantry under cover of a terrific firo were flung on the eastern slopes into a maelstrom of death. The advance did not exceed four hundred yards, tho Italian guns sweeping and enfilading the lines and tearing holes m the ranks till nearly all were killed. Prisoners complain that there were no officers in tho forefront of tho fighting, and some aver that the Austrian Army is desperately short of officers.
