NO SHORTAGE OF OFFICERS.
(SPECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") WELLINGTON, Jul" 23. The Hon. James Allen told the Houso of Representativeslo-day that there was no dearth of officers for the Reinforcements, and no shortage of officers with good qualifications offering. He was not disposed to put any difficulties in the way of gentlemen who considered that they had the necessary qualifications and were obliged to wait their turn for appointment in Now Zealand, trying their fortune in England, and he was only too pleased to know that in many instances they had been successful in obtaining commissions in the Imperial regiments.
